Milan Italy and Fribourg Switzerland
So the last few weekends have been busy with travel. Last weekend I was in Milan, Italy and the weekend before that I was in Fribourg, Switzerland! Fribourg is about 30 minutes by train from Bern, and a really cute town. There is a really pretty church and town center, and a lot of great shops. Here are a few pictures of the town.

This is one of the streets we walked down. Unfortunately the day we went the weather wasn't that great, but we didn't care, Switzerland's weather seems like it's always bad!

So that was my trip to Fribourg. Here are pictures from my trip to Milan, Italy. Milan was not my favorite place I've been to, that is for sure, and there are a few reasons for that. One, you could not even window shop since all the shops besides the tourist stands were Prada, Gucci, Hermes, or other very expensive shops! Next, I was a dumb tourist and some very cunning Italian scan artists managed to get 40 euros from me. And the day that we went, the weather was not the best, and we somehow managed to get ourselves lost, (Milan is not easy to navigate!)

Here I am at the front of the Centrale train station in Milan!

This was a little garden in-between some shops

Here I am in front of the Prada store, if only I had the money to shop there!
Thats all the pictures I have for now, I did get pictures of the Duomo, but my camera died during our trip so I am waiting for my friend to send the pictures, so I will be posting again with more pictures from Milan.
Ok, so I hate blogger when it does this! My text is always bigger in one area and it will not change sizes! I hate this!!!!

So I was searching through my pictures and I found some that were taken a few months ago that I had never posted, so here they are! They were taken about 40 minutes from Bern, at a pretty popular tourist place. Its about a 30 minute walk through a windy canyon above a huge river. The river is not the normal blue, but is actually white, I'm thinking from the rocks. There are also a few of the mountains, and of another hike. Hope you enjoy!

This was taken when I first started walking through the canyon.

You may not be able to see very well, but this canyon was used by the Nazi's during WWII, and this is one of their marks they have made on the canyon.

These next pictures are of the other hike I took.

Okay, so those are all the lost pictures I have. Hope you enjoyed them.

Sorry it's been a while since I posted last, but an au pair is always busy!! So not much has gone on since I posted last, I have a few more pictures that friends and I have taken. I am also getting frustrated about language classes here. They are either at the right time and are too expensive, or have already been canceled due to lack of people, or are at the wrong time. So who knows, it may be a while before I will be in a class.

But here are a few pictures I have taken.

These are all pictures that my friend and I took while walking around downtown Bern. The trees had started to change and we wanted pictures showing this.

I had the hardest time climbing that tree. The curse of being short!!!

These last pictures were all taken in Thun, a town 15 minutes outside of Bern. These are all the pictures I have for now, I will take more and put them up! Hope you enjoy!

New Job!!
I have finally started my new job, and have been here about 2 weeks. The family has done everything possible to make me feel comfortable, and we've even taken a trip to Ikea for a few things for my room. I went to the language school but they don't know when the next class will start, so I signed up, and until then, the family said they would help me with my French.

Alix, the little girl, has been a breeze to work with after spending over a month with 2 loud, energy filled boys. The only problem I have encountered is Alix testing me to see how much she can get away with, but once she knows I won't be a pushover, I think things will be easier.

Here is a picture of Alix on our first day alone together:

Since I have been in Bern, I have started meeting other people. The other day, Patti, a new friend and I went to the Rosengarten. The Rosengarten is a large park with a section full of all different kinds of roses, a large grass area complete with tables and chairs, a large fountain, and a nice restaurant over looking Bern. Patti and I ate lunch at the park, and walked around the park and took pictures.

Here are a few pictures of the Park, and of the view of Bern:

After Patti and I left the park, Patti had a craving for Ben and Jerry's Ice cream. I knew of an ice cream stand on one of the side streets of Bern, but on our way there, a small shop had a large Ben and Jerry's sign in the window. Although it was a bit expensive, we didn't care!

Nothing much else has happened, but I will keep you updated!
And I know the text is all different sizes, thats not my fault, Blogger is being stupid and it won't change!!! I'm very mad at it!!!
